We brought our German Shepherd to Brittany to prepare him for AKC Canine Good Citizen's (CGC) testing. We were pleasantly surprised by her excellent credentials, her classic methods of dog training (although she has a wide repertoire of techniques), and her group classes that reinforce techniques learned in her private lessons. Brittany has a clear and concise way of teaching the owner, and I have seen many dogs make great transformations in a very short time with her. I would recommend this business to anyone who has dog training needs...from puppy/basic obedience up to specialty fuctions such as service dog assistance, personal protection, tracking and rehabilitation.

Things I never dreamed...by Patti M.
My son and I were referred to Desert Dogs after our dog bit someone. We met with Brittany and Anthony a short time later and after our first visit we immediately felt a calm come over our "storm". Our chocolate lab/basset hound mix is ten years old, but was never socialized properly and never walked regularly. Brittany and Anthony stressed the importance of the walk for dogs and the importance of the owner's self-confidence in the control of their dog. They trained us to understand and train our dog. Not only are they knowledgable, but they are compassionate and wonderful to work with. They spent as much time as it took at our meetings and assured us that they would always be available if we needed any further help. Through Desert Dogs my son and I have accomplished two things we never dreamed could happen - walking our dog with no fear and having our dog live peacefully in our new home with another dog! We Love You Desert Dogs and are eternally grateful for w hat you do!

A fabulous duo of highly professional and caring dog trainers by jenny6363
When I called Desert Dogs I was in tears and at my wits end with my dog Dingo, who had taken to biting people in my home out of fear. I called several trainers to help me figure it out. Desert Dogs was the only company that was willing to talk with management at my complex and work out a deal. Brittany and Anthony made it clear to me that they WANTED to help me. Anthony took Dingo into his care for 3 weeks, all the while being thoughtful enough to update me on his progress wth videos, phone call and pics. On top of rehabilitating Dingo, Anthony made several visits to my home and spent up to THREE hours with me each time to make sure I understood everything and was comfortable. We also went on several walking excursions together, where he educated me about the dog's psyche. I have been so pleasantly surprised with the expertise and compassion of Desert Dogs. Dingo is home now and I feel educated and in control of the situat ion. Desert Dogs has allowed me to keep my dog and for that

Siberian Savior by Robbie
We have two beautiful Siberian Huskies. They're wonderful, loving, playful dogs, but had a tendency to rip our arms off when walking them. With Brittany's help, we have corrected that behavior. Brittany has also helped us tremendously in curbing the female's dog-agressiveness. We're now starting to work off-leash with them -- something we never thought possible before! It's very exciting.I highly recommend Desert Dogs!

Amazing results! by Nicki
I could never walk my dog in public because of his aggressive attitude towards other animals. I was constantly afraid he would break away from me and possibly hurt someone else's pet. Brittany and Anthony explained to me why my dog behaves as he does and taught me techniques to help re-train his brain to react differently to various stimuli. They were so positive and encouraging, there was no way not to succeed, as long as I put the tools they gave me to work. After a few short weeks, I am confident in my ability to handle my dog and walks are totally enjoyable now! My thanks to Desert Dogs, you're the best!

I am so glad to have found Anthony and Brittany with Desert Dogs Training. They are the best people and dog trainers out there. With in 5 at home lessons my dogs have shown amazing improvement. They have passed the good citizen canine test and are on their way to off leash training. Anthony and Brittany will tailor training to your dogs needs and teach you to be an effective handler. Our dog Owen was scared of the dog door, the kitchen at night, noises, the back seat of the car (after hearing a loud noise), clickers, objects in the human world, the vet, the dog wash etc. He is now barreling through the dog door, is still a little nervous at the vet but got on the scale and sat to be weighed for the first time ever, has started agility training and has forgotten that the car and kitchen were a little frightening, and most amazingly got into the bath at the dog wash on his own and sat to be blow dried. I highly recommend Desert Dogs Training and judging from our bi-weekly group lessons they can help any dog out there from severe aggression to advanced service dog training. Thanks you guys.

The Einhorns - Amanda, Jesse and Rosie
We have a 4 year old chow-retriever mix we adopted from the Humane
Society who took her owners for a walk rather than the other way
around. As we began talking about having children, I knew we needed
...help training her to walk appropriately on the leash
I contacted Brittany and Anthony at Desert Dogs because I respected
their work rehabilitating rescue dogs and I knew they both were
certified trainers. I could not have made a better choice.
From day one, Brittany and Anthony got results with our dog, Rosie. It
was amazing to see how quickly she learned with them! Most importantly
though, the two of them were able to model for my husband and I how to
behave like 'leaders' with our dog. Brittany and Anthony were
professional, knowledgeable, and really supportive of the 'slow
learning' adults (my husband and I) in my dogs' life! Rosie learned
all of the on leash commands. The group lessons were a great
opportunity for her to see good behavior modeled by other dogs, and
for us to practice non-reactive 'greeting' with other dogs.
Furthermore, my husband and I had the opportunity to work in Asia for
a few months. During our time overseas, Brittany and Anthony boarded
and cared for Rosie. Although I missed her tremendously, I was
totally confident knowing she was in the good hands of Desert Dogs. I
knew she was with capable trainers who understood dogs' needs and even
better, Rosie knew them both, so she was not living with strangers.
Anthony and Brittany treated Rosie as if she were one of their own
dogs in our absence - giving me peace of mind while I was traveling.
Thank you Brittany and Anthony for everything! We love you!

In my life, I have always been a very motivated and physically involved person. Nearly 8 years ago I was in a traumatic accident breaking vertebrae and damaging nerves, as a result I have developed certain 'In-Abilities' (or Disability). The spinal and nerve damage that I have causes extreme difficulties handling items, as well as, standing from a kneeling or seated position and pulling or pushing. I am often fumbling and dropping my keys or my cell phone or my bank card while at ATMs, and becoming even more frustrated at my In-Ability to bend over to retrieve these dropped items, knowing how difficult and painful it is for me to bend and then to stand up, and although supermarket shopping carts have wheels, they are somewhat difficult for me to push and handle while shopping.
In one's life they may be faced with many hardships, it is Human nature to find ways to lessen or alleviate these hardships. I did much research on canine service and assistive training and discovered Desert Dogs Training in Tucson. Brittany Robinson and her team have been like extended family to my German Shepherd Dog 'Rosie' and myself. I have found them to be most organized with a straight forward and efficient, Praise ('No-Treat') Method of Dog Training.
We have been working with the Desert Dogs Program since October of 2009, Rosie was just 3 months old, and we have had tremendous results and satisfaction. With a little over 6 months of training, Rosie was able to pass her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test without pause (but with paws!).
Brittany takes the time, individually, to work on particular and specific tasks, or if need be, and there has been, behavior modifications. She is patient and thorough, a goal oriented trainer with the Dog and even more so with me. A very large part of a well trained Dog is a well trained Owner.
We are now training for over a year and with regard to Rosie's assistive abilities we have so far accomplished all 'On-Leash' Commands; Heel, No, Sit, Down, Down & Sit in Motion, Come, Crate, Off, Stand, Finish, etc., and the 'Soft-Mouth Retrieval' commands; Take It (Keys, Credit Cards, Cell phone, Mail, etc.) & Thank You, which is the release command. We have just begun to integrate and give names to the different items as well. Desert Dogs also holds a Free Bi-Weekly "Group Lesson" at Ried Park, where the dogs and owners (handlers) have the opportunity to work together, in public, to keep the animals focused and on task, learning from one another. They are beginning to incorporate certain obstacles and agility training items to the group lessons as well.
Brittany Robinson & Desert Dogs integrates thorough, No-Treat, Praise Oriented Training with a great record of follow up and completion.
Having a well trained and obedient (service and/or companion) dog, one who is focused and 'Good' is one of the most proud and enjoyable experiences I have had. Plus my Dog is Happier and Proud as well!
Fans and forever students,
James & Rosie Louisa

When we first met Brittany, we had a 9 month old chocolate lab who could be best described as a monster. He was convinced he ran the house and we let him! After he chewed a hole in our carpet, insisted on jumping on our girls, and chased them around like chew toys, we knew it was time for a change. I researched online and found Desert Dogs. I emailed questions and received a prompt response. I was impressed by the professionalism and was excited to meet Brittany for our evaluation. At our evaluation, Brittany demonstrated what our dog would be capable of and our dog gave Brittany a demo of the destruction he was capable of! She assured us he would be an excellent candidate for obedience, and we told her we believed her. We did not. We were certain Porter was going to be a monster forever. We were wrong. Brittany came to our home and trained with us based on our busy and varying schedule. The first lesson went fabulous, as did each lesson after. He became a well behaved canine! We loved bringing him to group lessons to further his social skills and help improve his behavior. After a couple of weeks of training, we talked to Brittany about wanting another chocolate lab. She said if she heard anything she would let us know. The next day she called us and had a client who could no longer care for their chocolate lab. She thought of us immediately, and soon after, Stout became a part of our family. Both Porter and Stout were certified as Canine Good Citizens, and I know this would never have been possible without Brittany. We are constantly told how well behaved our dogs are and are impressed daily with the skills Brittany gave us to help train our dogs. Anyone who is considering dog training would be well served to call Desert Dogs. It is easy to see Brittany is doing what she loves and is excellent at it. She is dedicated, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Thank you so much Brittany for making our lives more sane and more complete!

Dear Brittany,
I want to thank you for the absolutely fantastic training you have provided for Luna ! I had read that sIberian huskies should never be allowed off leash because of their innate need to run and therefore run away and not look back. I really wanted to take Luna off leash at the Rillito so she could enjoy some freedom and work off some of her crazy energy. Well, your off leash training did just that. We go to the Rilllito several times a week and I can let her run free and when I call her to me, she turns right around and charges right back to me and sits by my side. She will hold that sit until I release her. When I am jogging on the path, she will auto heel right by my side , slowing down and speeding up according to my pace. When we pass people or dogs or cyclists along the path, she will glance at them, but not leave my side , bark or stop to sniff . Your professional training has enhanced Luna's life, and has allowed me to take her anywhere a dog is welcome. Not only are you a professional, but your sincerity is very evident and I totally enjoy working with you. Please don't hesitate to use me as a reference for any potential clients. I would be happy to talk to them.
Thanks again from both Luna and me!
